Old Alabama Jar - Sand Mountain? Item sold This is an unusual piece that is on first blush, not apparent where it may be from. But it is high-fired and composed of the same fine gray clay like Sand Mountain pieces exhibit. The glaze matches as well. It is most likely from or near that area although the form is not characteristically Sand Mountain. Circa later half of the nineteenth century. 8 inches tall. Very good condition.
