Alkaline Glazed American Picker Stacker Jug

Item sold

Alkaline Glazed American Picker Stacker Jug. This jug is unusual. It is an alkaline glazed stacker jug. Most you see are slip glazed but not this one. It was found on the History Channel's American Picker Show. It is in perfect shape except for a very small glaze flake on the shoulder, 9 and 1/2 inches tall. Stacker jugs pretty much all have the same shape, so they are hard to tell from where they came. This jug was in a lot of pottery that was all from East Alabama and Atlanta area potteries. The handle does terminate just like a Paulding County jug that was in the collection so I attribute this one to Paulding County as well. Circa 1900.
